Merry Christmas!

I think Aaron had a decent Christmas. He tolerated the opening of gifts for a while, but wasn't terribly excited about it. When he opened his new train, though, he wasn't interested in opening any more. We had Christmas dinner with the Leaps this evening & dinner with the Walshes tomorrow night.

The Real Blizzard of '09

That last snow was just for practice. This is the real stuff.

The funny thing about living in a townhouse is that there is nowhere to put the snow when you shovel it.

Up, Up and Away

All I wanted him to do was to safely bump down the stairs on his butt (he won't crawl down on his belly). He wanted to walk down the stairs holding onto me, but I wouldn't let him. So, he turned around and crawled up almost the whole flight of stairs, screaming the whole way. Finally, he can crawl up the stairs. It only took a little stubbornness on his part. I don't know where he gets that from.

DC Blizzard '09

OK, not really a blizzard. More like a good, solid snow. Aaron liked looking at it and walking through it. He didn't like sitting in it as much.

Pushing Along

When he learns to steer, we're in trouble.

Silly Boy

This child has a serious case of the sillies today. I couldn't quite get a picture of the spoon he left hanging out of his mouth through most of dinner, because he would pull it out to pose for the camera. What a ham.

Halloween Pics

Halloween 2008

Halloween 2009

Aaron enjoyed his Halloween costume much more this year than he did last year. We went to our friends Joe & Rachel's house for dinner, then some trick-or-treating with their daughter and the Leaps' kids. Although Aaron didn't quite understand the whole concept of trick-or-treat, he really enjoyed hanging out with all the kids and walking around the neighborhood. He even scored a Kit Kat bar.

Thank You Halloween!

Aaron's still doesn't crawl or walk on his own, or pull himself up to stand, without one of us holding a hand under his butt to spot him. So, the other night, Justin & I were testing out the Halloween candy (you know, to make sure it's safe to give out). Aaron kept reaching for the Kit Kat bar, so I put it on the ottoman to see if he would pull himself up to get it. He pulled right up and grabbed it (and ate it).

The next day, I figured since he was so motivated by the Kit Kat bar, that I would use it to see what I could get him to do. Sure enough, he crawled about 2 feet to get it. Then he figured out that I was manipulating him and quit.

Halloween pictures to come!

The Party

We celebrated Aaron's birthday today with a few friends. We had a good time & Aaron LOVED the cake! He ate almost half of his piece, which is huge for him.

The Birthday Boy

Happy birthday, little one. You've brought us great joy this past year. We love you.

Can you tell that he's learning to smile for the camera? That looks like a Granna-style forced smile to me.

First Haircut

Today was all all about Aaron being a big boy. First he practiced eating birthday cake at Ethan's birthday party (you can see a shot of his chocolate mustache here). Then he got his first haircut, which he was oh-so-thrilled about. Finally, he tried ground beef for the first time, and loved it. He gets that from his dad.

He looks so much older with short hair. I don't think people will say what a pretty little girl he is anymore, though.

The Best of Texas Trip Photos

My best friend Cindy is getting married soon and Aaron & I just returned from your trip to Texas for her bridal shower. It was on the same day as the Race for the Cure walk. Her mother is a breast cancer survivor, and I was honored to walk with her.

The pictures should be rearranged, but I'm to lazy to go back and fix them.

I Need a Haircut

All of a sudden people think Aaron is a little girl. Maybe it's the out-of-control hair. I try to tame it, but...
