His Favorite Place to Be

Hanging out in the Baby Bjorn with mom or dad. Of course, I had to tickle him to get a smile for the camera.

Look at Me, Not Him

I put both pictures up because Aaron is cuter in the first one. However, I did want to comment on the impending injury Oscar is about to sustain. He will learn to keep his distance. I think this is the beginning of a very long competition for attention.

A Tribute

My friend Susie has gotten me hooked on the Cake Wrecks blog, so I though I would post my own tribute to it.

If you ever ask Justin about the cakes at our wedding, you are not likely to get a positive review. Actually, there are probably a few cuss words thrown in there. Here's why:

Grooms cake- Inspiration:

Actual Preparation:

If you can't tell, the chocolate was supposed to be drizzled on the cake, not finger painted. If you could look more closely at the cake, you would notice the "sqauare" edges look like they ran into a wall.

Brides cake- Inspiration: Oh, I don't know... ANYTHING STRAIGHT!
Actual Preparation:
I know the images are tiny, but I had to scan the pictures (yes, we got married before digital photography was common). I'm not a whiz with the scanner. Or any technology, really. If you click on the pictures, you can see them a little better.

Justin's edit: I am "a whiz with the scanner" but she didn't ask me for help.

First Feeding

Aaron had his first feedings of rice cereal this week. After the first few bites, he would just open his mouth and wait for some more. I didn't get any pictures of that. It was getting a bit messy by then.

This Dog

This dog is trouble. He sits at my feet the whole time I'm nursing Aaron, staring at me. He has lead the effort to eat all of the mulch in our backyard. This dog guards Alice's food (who's four times his size) and dares her to eat it.

Today, this dog ate Aaron's beloved ducky. It's a good thing he was our first child.

Ducky Love

Attachment to stuffed ducks must run in the family. Aaron's cousin has an old, graying, well loved duck which is about to fall apart. I have the feeling this duck might be following in its footsteps.

Snow!

This amount of snow wouldn't be a big deal in Colorado, but it's enough to close the city here. They cancel school with even the threat of snow. None the less, it's been a while since we've seen this amount of snow, so it's kind of exciting to see.
